NCCU × VIET HOA | EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE STARTS WITH INTERNSHIP

On August 14, Viet Hoa International School hosted an Internship Student Exchange Forum with National Chengchi University (NCCU), bringing together NCCU faculty members, three student interns, and the Viet Hoa school team to reflect on their internship journey and share their experiences and insights from the real educational environment.

The forum provided an opportunity not only to review the interns’ experiences and growth, but also to strengthen the connection between university education and the practical realities of teaching in schools.

From Classroom Observation to Hands-On Teaching

Since June 22, three student interns—黃翊瑄 (Huang Yi Xuan), 王巧郁 (Wang Qiao Yu), and 邱睿儀 (Qiu Rui Yi)—have been completing their internship at Viet Hoa International School.

During the initial stage of their internship, the students supported Summer Camp activities, accompanied students, and observed classroom instruction and classroom management practices. As they became more familiar with the school environment and teaching processes, they gradually took on more active roles by preparing teaching materials, designing lesson content, and gaining hands-on experience in Mandarin instruction.

From lesson preparation and classroom teaching to post-lesson review and reflection, each experience gave the interns an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real educational settings while developing practical skills in classroom management, student interaction, and instructional adjustment.

Growing Through Real Classroom Experiences

During the forum, the three interns shared memorable moments with students, the challenges they encountered during teaching, and the personal growth they experienced throughout their internship.

For the interns, stepping into a real classroom was more than an opportunity to gain teaching experience. It allowed them to develop a deeper understanding of the teaching profession. Working with students of different ages, personalities, and learning needs showed them that effective teaching requires not only professional knowledge, but also patience, observation, flexibility, and an understanding of learners.

NCCU faculty members and Ms. Amy, the interns’ mentor at Viet Hoa, also provided feedback and suggestions from both academic and practical perspectives, helping the students reflect more comprehensively on their learning and teaching experiences.

Through this sincere exchange, both sides were able to share practical experiences while gaining broader perspectives on educational philosophy and teaching practice.

Connecting Universities with the Educational Field

The internship and exchange program represents more than a valuable experience for the three students. It also highlights the importance of collaboration between universities and schools.

Through its partnership with National Chengchi University, Viet Hoa International School continues to expand opportunities for collaboration in Mandarin language education, overseas internships, and educational exchange. Such collaboration allows university students to experience authentic school environments, while creating opportunities for schools and universities to exchange professional knowledge and perspectives.

For the interns, participating in classroom teaching and school activities helped transform academic knowledge into practical experience and develop the professional skills and global perspective needed for their future careers in education.

For Viet Hoa, welcoming student interns also brought new opportunities for exchange and learning, allowing different educational backgrounds and perspectives to meet, connect, and inspire one another within the school community.

To recognize the dedication and contributions of the three interns throughout their placement, Viet Hoa International School presented certificates of appreciation to 黃翊瑄 (Huang Yi Xuan), 王巧郁 (Wang Qiao Yu), and 邱睿儀 (Qiu Rui Yi).

The certificates represent not only recognition of their internship experience, but also appreciation for the meaningful time they shared with the students and the Viet Hoa school community.
