[Home-School Partnership in Action] Smooth Transition of the 4th and 5th Parent Committee at Viet Hoa International School
On the afternoon of September 26, 2025, Viet Hoa International School successfully held the “Handover and Interim Meeting of the 4th and 5th Parent Committee” in the 2nd-floor meeting room on campus. During the ceremony, the role of Parent Committee Chairperson was officially passed from Ms. Chen Po-Yu (acting chair of the 4th Committee) to Mr. Hsu Hung-Liang, symbolizing the continuation and deepening of collaboration between the school and parents.
✦ Clear Meeting Objectives and Shared Vision
The meeting, chaired by Mr. Hsu Hung-Liang, was attended by parent committee members, the school administrative team, and Board Representative Chairman Mr. Hsieh Ming-Hui. Special thanks were also extended to Supervisory Committee Member Mr. Chen Sheng-Wen for participating online.

✦ Speeches from the Chairperson and Principal: Promoting Participation and Collaboration
In his address, newly appointed Chairperson Mr. Hsu emphasized the importance of establishing functional committees to enhance organizational efficiency. He encouraged all committee members and parents to actively participate and co-create an ideal learning environment for students.
Principal Mr. Ambler Moss, drawing from his international experience, reiterated that active parental involvement is closely linked to students’ academic performance. He affirmed the school’s support for parents' engagement and its commitment to working together for excellence in teaching and learning.
✦ Four Functional Committees Established: Upgraded Parental Engagement
To deepen parent-school collaboration, the following four functional committees were officially launched, along with their respective committee members:

Catering & Welfare Committee – Mr. Chen Chuo Tung
– Supervises student meal quality and safety, and provides feedback on school welfare services. -
Transportation Committee – Mr. Lo Yu Chun
– Oversees traffic safety during school drop-off/pick-up and promotes traffic education. -
Student Discipline Committee – Ms. Ho Wei Chiao
– Assists in formulating reward/discipline policies and promotes character education. -
Scholarship Committee – Mr. Liu Chiu Sheng
– Develops and reviews scholarship programs to encourage academic achievement.
Additionally, Ms. Wu Chao I was appointed as the Finance Committee Member, responsible for supervising financial operations.
✦ Transparent Finances: Supporting Students through Action
Acting Chairperson Ms. Chen Po-Yu reported that the Parent Committee currently holds a surplus of approximately 2.6 billion VND. These funds have historically been used to support school events and student welfare such as the Spring Fair, birthday gifts, Sports Day, Children's Day, and scholarship awards—demonstrating the committee’s care and dedication.
✦ President's Suggestion: Provide Supplementary Materials for New Students
President Mr. Hsieh proposed that the Parent Committee consider purchasing Chinese and English supplementary materials to gift to new or transfer students to support their language acquisition and ease their learning transition.
✦ Improved Systems and Financial Oversight
The committee also confirmed financial regulations: all expenses must be supported by receipts, co-signed by the Chairperson and Finance Member, and audited by the Supervisory Committee to ensure transparency and proper fund allocation.
Plans were also made to develop a robust scholarship system, and committee members will recommend vice members before the next meeting to broaden participation.
✦ Parent-Teacher Engagement Night Announced
To foster stronger parent involvement, the school previewed the “Parent-Teacher Engagement Nights” scheduled for November 18–21. All parents are warmly invited to attend and witness their children’s growth firsthand.
